It seems like a lot of people use their blogs to update people on their travels. This makes me feel left out. I figured I better use today’s blog to tell you about my trip. I just got back from Costa Rica today. What a great vacation! I'm going to use the blog today to share some stories and pictures. A lot of you didn’t even know I was going. I probably should have mentioned that in a past blog. But oh well. It’s good to be back and I’ve got some great stories to share.
It was a very short vacation. I left for Costa Rica this morning and got back this evening. Expedia had one of those great flight/hotel deals. But the hotel part was only for two hours; between 1PM and 3PM.
I checked in at the hotel and a wonderful lady named Rosapolenta greeted me at the front desk. I remember the way she said “mister”. “Meester Snipes” she said, “welcome to the La escupida Grande Hotel.” She showed me to my room and gave me the keycard. I was so anxious to see the town that I didn’t unpack a thing. I also knew I’d be leaving in an hour and fifty-three minutes. So, I just tossed my two suitcases on the bed and went out for a stroll.Oh the smell of the fresh fruit in the market and perfume of the ladies dancing in the plaza! Break dancing has always made me feel at peace. I watched for a half hour or so and cheered them on. I took a long nap under a pineapple tree and played canasta with the local children when I awoke. Oh how they enjoyed learning my anglo style of play. I’m sure I picked up a few moves from them as well. I stopped by a food stand on a street corner where a man was cooking meats and grapes. I can still smell the comforting aromas of his food.
I made my way back to the hotel and took another short nap then checked out. I took that nap in the hallway since they had checked me out of my room already. I got my bags from the front desk and headed for the airport. The bags were so heavy; I shouldn’t have brought so many shoes. The trip back was wonderful. I love traveling to far away places and meeting new people. The person next to me on the plane was from Lawrence, Kansas.
Oh the stories he told. I know where my next vacation will be, that’s for sure. I really enjoyed the trip to Costa Rica and am excited about only having to burn one vacation day at work. It was a memory that will last a lifetime.

dan, you should consider going to catembe next and staying for 6 hours. you might enjoy it even more. (you would have to spend 4 work days travelling there though, not sure if you are ready for that long of a committment)
I don't believe you. There is no way you could have traveled to the Osa Peninsula in that amount of time. The flight schedule there from San Jose is erratic at best, and the busses are another story entirely. You are such a liar... unless of course you flew to Nicaragua and swam there. Of course! That's how you did it you magnificent bastard! And sea turtles to keep your luggage dry. Brillant! Did you get your $5 back from the guy that stiffed you? Man, that would be quite the capper to a funfilled vacation.
