Winter is here

It was cold this morning here in the Piedmont. But here's what I don't get - why do people wear coats in their cars? Nine out of ten people I saw this morning had coats on... some with winter hats on as well. Several things can mitigate the need to have a coat on while driving:

1. The inside of my garage was about 50 degrees this morning - hardly coat worthy. Don't have a garage?... okay, slack shall be cut for you.
2. I have a heater in my car. It runs off the same knob as the one I use to make the heat go away in the summer. I just move the knob to the red side instead of the blue. Don't all people have knobs with red backgrounds in their cars?
3. It only takes a few minutes to heat up the inside of a car. Are these nine out of ten people I saw this morning all five minutes from their homes? That can't be. I bet some of these people had been driving 45 minutes with their coats on.

Come on people. Take the coat off and get comfy. You look like idiots all bundled up inside a temperature controlled environment. I will grant you a five minute exception - to those of you who don't warm up your cars in the morning. Beyond that, you're just being ridiculous.
