My gas tank was near empty on Thursday. But I decided to wait and get gas on Friday. On Thursday gas was priced at $3.69 a gallon. On Friday it shot up to $4.29 because everyone in Charlotte decided to fill their tanks. I said no, no I will not pay this ridiculous amount caused by people's panic. I used my girlfriend's car over the weekend. And I poured a gallon of gas out of my lawn-mower gas can to get me by until people came to their senses. Sure enough, gas was still $4.29 on the way into work today, but by lunchtime when the gas stations realized they were doing no business since everyone had already filled up, the price went down to $3.99 a gallon. I saved $4.80 by waiting until things normalized, but lost $4.80 by not filling up on Thursday. Oh well. As long as the good people of Saudi Arabia are getting my money, I guess I'm happy to pay it.
