Just now a co-worker came into my office and made small talk. He was saying something as he was leaving and I couldn't really hear him. He smiled after he said it and walked out of my office looking back. I nodded and gave a courtesy laugh and said something to the effect of "yep". I didn't want him to come back in, so I gave him an agreeable, affirmative departure comment and thought that was it. Then he said "so you've seen it?" I had to say "seen what?" Embarrassing.
