Twice this week I saw a mother and her son throwing a baseball back and forth, outside the gym. At face value, this sounds like a wonderful thing doesn't it? The son was probably 7 years old. He was just learning how to throw a baseball, it appeared. All kids should spend time with their parents, having fun, learning new skills. But here's the thing - his mom throws like a girl. She has a release point at about shoulder level with no follow-through at all. Her arm comes forward, the ball comes out, and her arm hits the brakes. And this is how her son will learn to throw as well. It's sad.
